Material Type by Temperature Grade
Not all "ceramic fiber" is the same. At FOVO Thermal, we manufacture three distinct material types across the high-temperature spectrum:
- 1400°C Grade — Ceramic Fiber (Alumino-Silicate). Suitable for continuous use up to 1250°C. Cost-effective solution for standard industrial furnace applications.
- 1500°C – 1600°C Grade — Polycrystalline Mullite Fiber. Crystalline structure provides superior stability, extremely low shrinkage, and longer service life at elevated temperatures. Suitable for continuous use up to 1450°C.
- 1700°C – 1900°C Grade — Alumina Fiber. High-purity alumina for ultra-high-temperature applications above 1450°C. Maximum thermal stability and chemical resistance.
All grades are available in custom sizes with no minimum order quantity — whether you need a single piece for a laboratory furnace or bulk modules for an industrial kiln.

Typical Applications
Heat Treatment Furnace Linings
Suitable for insulation linings in box-type heat treatment furnaces, bogie hearth furnaces, and pit-type furnaces. The low heat storage characteristic of ceramic fiber board reduces heat-up time by over 30% compared to traditional brick linings — particularly advantageous for intermittent heat treatment processes (quenching, annealing, tempering, normalizing). Boards can be cut on-site, and furnace downtime for relining can be controlled within 2–3 days.
Induction Melting Furnace Lids and Sidewall Insulation
Suitable for lid linings and sidewall back-up insulation in medium-frequency induction melting furnaces. The low thermal conductivity of ceramic fiber board effectively reduces outer shell temperature, minimizes heat loss, and improves working conditions. Excellent thermal shock resistance withstands frequent lid openings.
Glass Tempering and Annealing Furnace Insulation
Suitable for heating section insulation in horizontal and curved glass tempering furnaces, as well as insulation linings in glass annealing lehrs. Ceramic fiber board contains no soluble alkali metal oxides, preventing surface contamination of glass products — making it an ideal insulation material for the glass industry.
Laboratory Furnaces and Atmosphere Furnaces
Suitable for linings in box-type laboratory furnaces, tube furnaces, and atmosphere-controlled furnaces. Dimensions can be customized to drawings with no minimum order quantity, meeting the frequent replacement needs of research institutes for non-standard sizes.
Metallurgical Sintering Furnaces and Pusher Kilns

Selection Notes:
- Classification temperature ≠ continuous use temperature. The recommended continuous use temperature for 1260°C grade products is ≤1100°C; for 1400°C grade products, it is ≤1250°C.
- If your furnace operates continuously above 1100°C, choose the 1400°C grade rather than the 1260°C grade.
- Select the most appropriate grade based on actual operating temperature — neither over-specify and waste budget, nor under-specify and shorten service life.
- Thermal conductivity values are target values based on GB/T 17911 test methods for reference only. Please refer to official test reports for accurate data, or consult our technical team.
