Ceramic Fiber Modules | 1430°C & 1600°C

Product Overview

FOVO Thermal ceramic fiber modules feature a pre-compressed design (compression ratio 30–45%), creating a seamless monolithic lining after installation that effectively eliminates gaps from fiber shrinkage and prevents heat short-circuiting. Modules are secured to the furnace shell with stainless steel anchors with excellent resistance to gas flow erosion. 1430°C (zirconia-containing) modules are manufactured at 220 kg/m³ density; 1600°C (polycrystalline mullite) modules at 180 kg/m³ density — balancing insulation performance with rapid response requirements.

Why Choose FOVO Ceramic Fiber Modules?

  • Install in hours, not days — Pre-engineered modules speed up installation by 3–5x vs. brick lining
  • Zero gaps, zero shortcuts — Pre-compressed design expands to create a seamless monolithic lining
  • Built-in anchoring — Complete stainless steel anchoring system included, no extra parts to source
  • Tailored to your furnace — Custom sizes available for non-standard furnace designs
  • Quick response, quick delivery — 15–21 day lead time for custom orders
  • Technical support — Free installation guidance and troubleshooting from our engineering team

Key Features

  • Fast installation – up to 10x faster than brick lining
  • Low thermal conductivity – reduces furnace energy consumption
  • Foldable design – compresses during installation, expands to fill gaps
  • Complete anchoring system – stainless steel anchors included (304 for 1430°C / 310 for 1600°C)
  • Custom sizes available
  • Made to order

Installation Overview

  1. Weld anchors to the furnace shell according to layout
  2. Press each module over its anchor (fold direction toward heat flow)
  3. Stagger joints between rows to avoid aligning gaps
  4. Optional: Apply rigidizer coating for high‑velocity gas areas

Typical Applications

Continuous Furnace Roof and Sidewalls

Suitable for roof and sidewall linings in walking beam furnaces and pusher-type continuous heating furnaces. Modular construction increases installation speed by 3–5 times compared to traditional brick linings, making it ideal for continuous heating applications with high gas flow velocity.

Bogie Hearth Furnaces and Bell-Type Furnaces

Suitable for full-fiber lining retrofits in large bogie hearth furnaces and bell-type annealing furnaces. 1600°C modules feature a low-density design (180 kg/m³) with low heat storage and fast heat-up response — particularly suitable for heat treatment processes requiring rapid thermal cycling. Full-fiber linings can achieve 20–30% energy savings.

Petrochemical Reformer and Cracking Furnaces

Suitable for linings in reformer furnaces, cracking furnaces, and conversion furnaces in the petrochemical industry. Ceramic fiber modules offer excellent thermal shock resistance to accommodate frequent start-ups and temperature fluctuations, along with good chemical stability against H₂, CO, and hydrocarbon atmospheres.

Cement Rotary Kiln Hoods and Coolers

Suitable for insulation linings in cement rotary kiln hoods, grate coolers, and preheater systems. The low density of ceramic fiber modules significantly reduces structural load on kiln hood steelwork, while offering excellent alkali vapor resistance for alkaline environments in cement production lines.

Selection Guide: Board vs. Modules — When to Choose Modules?

Operating Condition Recommended Product Reason
Furnace roof / arch structure Modules Reliable anchoring, no support required, safe installation
Large flat surface linings Modules Fast installation, excellent gap control
Small furnace chambers / complex areas Boards Flexible cutting, adapts to small dimensions
Small areas requiring frequent repairs Boards Convenient local replacement
Rapid heating applications (1600°C) Modules (180 density) Low heat storage, fast response

Selection Notes:

  • For 1600°C applications requiring rapid heat-up/cool-down cycles, the 180 kg/m³ low-density module is recommended.
  • For 1430°C applications with standard thermal cycling, 220 kg/m³ density provides optimal balance of insulation and mechanical strength.
  • Select the most appropriate product based on actual operating temperature and thermal cycling requirements — neither over-specify and waste budget, nor under-specify and shorten service life.
